VEXTEC Wins USAF RSO Phase III Contract

The United States Air Force Rapid Sustainment Office (USAF RSO) has signed-on for a yearlong Phase III program with VEXTEC. The Phase III program will deploy VEXTEC’s VPS-MICRO® computational predictive software to USAF engineering teams at the forefront of metal additive manufacturing (AM) for critical sustainment activities. A successful VEXTEC Phase II AM program with RSO catalyzed Air Force interest in predicting risk of fatigue failure of AM metal parts.

Navy Awards VEXTEC Sole Source Contract for Software & Services

VEXTEC was awarded a sole source contract from the U.S. Navy to expand its Corrosion Cracking Maintenance Prediction Software (CCMPS). CCMPS is used by the Navy to predict the future maintenance needs for aluminum (5000 series) ship structures.

VEXTEC will be in Washington D.C., presenting at the ASTM Symposium on Structural Integrity of Additive Manufactured Parts (November 7, 2018). During ASTM’s Committee Week, Dr. Robert Tryon (VEXTEC Chief Technology Officer) will present on our deployment of VPS-MICRO® probabilistic computational fatigue software for AM-built parts. VEXTEC is also authoring a paper on this topic for ASTM’s upcoming Special Technical Publication (STP 1620), releasing next year.
