Vice President of Sales & Business Development
Dr. Kulkarni serves as the Vice President, Sales and Business Development and brings with him 20+ years of leadership experience: a unique combination of customer interaction, strategic thinking and entrepreneurship skills along with strengths in engineering, research & development and technology.
He is currently a member of the ASME Validation & Verification (V&V) 40 subcommittee, he chairs the V&V 40 Subgroup on Stents, and is a member of the V&V 40 Subgroup on Solid Mechanics. The fundamental premise for ASME V&V 40 standard is the need for a guidance document and framework to enable appropriate implementation of computational modeling and simulation (CM&S) by the medical device industry for device design, device optimization and root cause failure analysis. In addition to his work in the medical device industry has worked with and engaged in problem solving to a broad range of industries: Automotive, Aerospace, defense, electronics, heavy engineering, energy, consumer products. Dr. Kulkarni’s recent extended focus on life sciences/healthcare/medical devices in areas of mechanical modeling and engineering, biomechanics and mechanics of materials, problem solving and technical leadership has been instrumental in arenas of technology initiatives, new methodologies, regulatory interactions, emerging technologies, industry standards and research consortia and he is leveraging that depth to identify and generate new business opportunities for VEXTEC.
With an exemplary academic background and research record (PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Vanderbilt University; Entrepreneurship Diploma from Arizona State University; Executive Certification in Life Sciences from UC Berkeley, Haas School of Business along with a significant publications record, patents/applications, editorial assignments, advisory and reviewer appointments), Dr. Kulkarni is an industry recognized leader and expert in the area of computational mechanics, computer aided engineering and engineering services.
